Transformational leadership is vital for developing effective current and future leaders. Effective leadership training must first focus on training current leaders in self-leadership. Self-leadership can reduce the risk of moral and ethical failure because this training produces internal change that translates into authenticity and integrity.
The second focus of transformational leadership is for a trained leader to enter into a mentor relationship in order that younger men and women might start their journey towards self-leadership. It is from these mentor relationships that God will raise up effective leaders for todays church.
